Samson Dingle, portrayed by Sam Hall, is set to face the music in Emmerdale this week, as his future in the village looks bleak.
Since becoming pals with Josh Cope (Osian Morgan), the teenager has found himself in hot water with the law – and it’s about to get worse. Note: there are spoilers ahead.
As regular viewers of the ITV soap will recall, Samson and Josh were involved in a robbery at The Hide while Matty Barton
(Ash Palmisciano) was on duty – a situation that quickly spiralled out of control. A subsequent argument led to Samson being accidentally stabbed,
after which he falsely accused Matty of deliberately attacking him, causing a rift within the Dingle family.
Matty endured a distressing stint in prison before Samson finally confessed the truth, leading to Matty’s release. But Samson must now face the law for his lies.
In the forthcoming scenes, Moira, Matty’s mother, played by Natalie J. Robb, makes it clear she hasn’t forgiven Samson despite his attempts to make amends.
But Samson eventually gathers the courage to confront bully Josh. His parents, Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia (Karen Blick), are horrified when things escalate and Samson assaults Josh.
Moira’s reaction, however, leaves her husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) wondering if she had a hand in Samson’s arrest.
Later in the week, at The Woolpack, Amelia Spencer (Daisy Campbell) is on tenterhooks as she awaits news of Samson’s plea hearing.
But some Emmerdale fans are predicting a huge twist that will see Samson run away from the village to start a new life in a new city, rather than be sent to prison.
Taking to X, one viewer speculated: “#Emmerdale Samson is going to do a runner, right?.” A second wrote: “Samson probably gonna do a runner to Ireland #emmerdale.”
While another on Reddit chimed in: “If the actor is leaving why not have him go to Aberdeen to attend university where he can live with Debbie?”. Another added: “Yeah he could easily say he’s taking a course at a uni in London or something.”
