Emmerdale’s Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) has not only been left devastated by Rose Jackson’s (Christine Tremarco) sudden departure, she’s been left deeply suspicious.
Rose swept back into Dawn’s life seemingly ready to be a mum and grandma after all these years, giving Dawn hope of having a normal family for once.
Dawn readily welcomed her back, but it transpired Rose had only reappeared as part of a scheme cooked up by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) to destroy Kim Tate (Claire King).
Rose did so by driving a wedge between Kim and Will Taylor (Dean Andrews),
going as far as spiking Dawn’s drink and sleeping with Will just to really spit on the grave of their marriage.
When Kim learned (most of) the truth, Rose mysteriously disappeared, and Will fobbed Dawn off
with a lie that he’d caught Rose trying to hack into the safe and sent her packing. The truth seems to be far more sinister.
The issue now is that Dawn does not believe that her mum would just up and leave having wedged herself so firmly into the family. Dawn’s suspicions are growing, and she makes a major play to find out the truth.
Dawn tells Will she will be reporting Rose missing to the police, which gives him the fright of his life. It’s not what he wants to hear when he’s also got the issue of his failing marriage on his mind as he continues to carry the secret that he slept with Rose.
But his biggest worry yet hits when Dawn reveals that Evan might need a bone marrow transplant and urgently needs her biological mum. Will is in turmoil – his fears for his grandson are through the roof, as is his anxiety over the issue with Rose. He tries to get hold of Kim for guidance but to no avail.
Worried Will borrows Rose’s phone from Kim and listens to Dawn’s frantic voicemail. In a panic, he once again tries to reach Kim, but he can’t get through. He’s guilty and he’s afraid for Evan so he makes a risky play and pings a message from Rose’s phone to Dawn.
But will Rose turn up? And will Dawn ever find out what happened to her mum?
