George Knight’s (Colin Salmon) estranged brothers Kojo (Dayo Koleosho) and Kobina Asare (Jonathan Nyati) are taken aback when they learn the shocking details of their father’s murder in EastEnders.
Earlier this year, viewers of the BBC soap saw George learn that his adoptive father Eddie (Christopher Fairbank) was responsible for the murder of his birth father Henry forty years ago.
George was also told that he was adopted from West Africa as part of a baby farming agreement in the 1960s, after originally believing he was Jamaican.
When Henry arrived to take his son back to Ghana, Eddie’s wife Gloria (Elizabeth Counsell) pleaded with him to stop the intervention. With his gang of mates, Eddie brutally murdered Henry and bundled his body into a suitcase, throwing it into a canal.
Further devastation hit George when Gloria died shortly after Eddie’s sentencing, and Angela Lawal (Susan Aderin), a friend of his birth parents, arrived to inform him of mum Margaret’s own death just months before.
She also informed him that he has two brothers.
In upcoming scenes, she calls George and informs him that they’re making their way to Albert Square.
Unable to process the news, and worrying about their reaction to the truth surrounding Henry’s passing, he turns to daughters Gina (Francesca Henry) and Anna (Molly Rainford) for some much-needed advice.
After agreeing to welcome them to The Vic, he’s overcome with emotion. Kobina tells him that Kojo is autistic.
Things quickly take a dark turn when George reveals that he witnessed Eddie and his cruel pals beating Henry, assuming that Angela had already informed them.
Shocked by what they hear, the brothers leave, and when Junior (Micah Balfour) convinces his dad to persist with them, Kobina fails to answer his phone.Elsewhere, Kojo has wondered off alone and becomes frustrated in the café, overwhelmed by the earlier events. Martin (James Bye) calls George and asks him to help, and luckily he manages to calm him down.
Following a heart to heart, George resolves to make a plan to win his brothers back, though fiancée Elaine (Harriet Thorpe) is anxious about Kojo’s unpredictable behaviour after he slept the night at The Vic.
She becomes further concerned when he continues to react to the situation, but luckily Kobina arrived and manages to diffuse it. He then faces George head on over Henry’s murder, before revealing that they are returning to Ghana.
Will George be able to make amends before it’s too late?
