Emmerdale and EastEnders both air huge twists tonight (Thursday 8 August), with plenty of drama on the way.

We have a new arrival causing chaos on one show, leading to a DNA bombshell that could be life-changing for one resident. 

Elsewhere there’s a blackmail twist as two characters are revealed to be in cahoots, bringing trouble to the door of one resident.

For those that have not seen tonight’s EastEnders on iPlayer, it remains a mystery as to who is targeting Linda Carter. 

The troubled character has been receiving letters from a mystery culprit claiming to know she killed Keanu Taylor at Christmas.

A select amount of characters do know the truth, but now it seems they are under threat. 

As Linda tries to work out who is out to get her, Thursday’s episode will reveal to viewers who exactly has teamed up with Dean Wicks to target her.

Dean is in prison after being framed for the crime, with his plan to expose her now revealed. But who is helping him and why? Be sure to tune in this evening to find out!

Over in Emmerdale, John Sugden makes his rather chaotic entrance after his initial debut on Wednesday night. Fresh from his dalliance with Aaron Dingle, John comes face-to-face with his long-lost half-sister Victoria Sugden in the next episode.

As she attends a funeral with Eric Pollard amid his car issues, she bumps into the son of the deceased woman. She’s left in shock though when he announces his surname is Sugden just like her, with Eric soon confessing John might be her sibling.

After the funeral she ends up bumping into John again in the village, but how will she react to hear what happened with Aaron, given Aaron was married to their brother Robert? How will Aaron feel about this too?

Viewers will recognise John actor Oliver Farnworth, who may be best known to soap fans for starring in Coronation Street, where he played Pat Phelan’s victim Andy Carver. He also had a starring role as Will Hackett in Hollyoaks and is dating Samantha Womack, who fans will known as Ronnie Mitchell in EastEnders.
