It all spectacularly kicks off, Mitchell-style in EastEnders next week following the revelation that Billy’s (Perry Fenwick) mum Val has died – and one resident looks set to depart…
It’s been a turbulent few months for Billy, ever since his estranged dad Stevie (Alan Ford) arrived in Walford looking to reconnect, and in the last week he’s discovered that he has a whole other secret family.
Half-brother Teddy (Roland Manookian) and his sons Harry (Elijah Holloway) and Barney (Lewis Bridgeman) swanned into Albert Square demanding answers, and after a good old-fashioned argument, the clan seemed to finally be on the right track.
However, in upcoming scenes, everything is thrown into the air… again!
With Mo (Laila Morse) reminding Billy that it’s his dad’s birthday, he decides to throw a surprise birthday party in The Vic, and during the preparations he tells son Will (Freddie Phillips) that his mum, Val, shared the same celebratory date.
Having not seen her for years, he wants to broach the subject but holds off so not to rock the boat again.
Elsewhere, Phil (Steve McFadden) overhears Stevie talking about how he wants to conceal his relationship with Teddy’s mother from Billy, who still believes he was conceived as the result of a fling. Phil gets the wrong idea, and gets his lawyer Ritchie (Sian Webber) to do some digging…
During the party, Billy makes a heartfelt speech for his dad and says he hopes that his mum is happy, wherever she is. Ready to stir the pot, Phil walks in and confronts Stevie over his findings, and the men head back to No. 18 for his confession.
Believing he is referring to Teddy’s mum, Stevie drops a double-blow when he tells all – and reveals that Val is dead.
Billy’s a broken man, and Teddy implores him not to let the announcement rob them of their newfound relationship. Enraged by Phil’s meddling, he lashes out at his cousin, and for once comes out on top.
Stevie apologies for everything he’s done, and before planning to leave Walford and saying goodbye to his grandchildren, enlists Mo to help him with a plan…
Will he be gone forever?
After the shocking revelation of Val’s death, tensions run high in Albert Square as Stevie’s secrets come to light.
As Billy struggles to come to terms with the news, Phil takes matters into his own hands and uncovers even more unsettling truths.
Stevie, feeling remorseful for the chaos he has caused, decides it’s time to make amends before saying his final goodbyes.
With Mo by his side, Stevie crafts a plan that will either bring closure to his tumultuous time in Walford or stir up even more drama.
Will Billy be able to forgive his father for keeping Val’s death a secret? And what does Stevie have up his sleeve as he prepares to leave?
