The reason for EastEnders’ legend Jane Beale’s return has been ‘exposed’ – and it’s not looking good for Cindy Beale.
Jane, played by Laurie Brett, was a firm favourite on the BBC One soap – making her debut in 2004. As the wife of Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt), Jane was involved in several big Walford moments.
Jane appeared on the soap on-and-off for 13 years, but in 2017 though, she said her goodbyes to Albert Square.
However, seven years since her last stint, and Jane made a shock comeback to the soap this week. As fans will recall, Ian has been hiding a huge secret from partner Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins).
Panicked, Cindy then recruited ex-George Knight (Colin Salmon) to drive her to the address, a mystery cottage.
After slamming on the front door, Ian eventually answered and Cindy charged through the property. In a truly iconic EastEnders’ moment, Cindy looked towards Jane and she introduced herself.
Now, fans are convinced they have ‘rumbled’ the reason for Jane’s surprise comeback. On social media, fans reckon Jane is back to get revenge on Cindy for cheating on Ian earlier this year with George.
On a Reddit thread, one person mused: “I still wonder if she’s going to be the one to blow Cindy out of the water.” A second added: “She’s back to kill Cindy.”
While on X, someone else mused: “Twitter seated for Cindy and Jane’s feud.” A second wrote: “Omg Jane is back Cindy needs to watch out.” Another mused: “Jane is definitely going to get revenge on Cindy.”
A fourth chimed in and said: “So happy it was Jane! and I hope she puts Cindy in her place if she tries to come for her because they’ve both done horrible things.”
