Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) was elated when her long lost mum showed up back in her life in Emmerdale ready to make amends. But now Rose Jackson (Christine Tremarco) has disappeared and Dawn has no idea why, it just looks like her mum has abandoned her all over again.
The truth is that Rose was there under false pretences from the beginning – not to make amends with her daughter but instead had been recruited by Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) to bring down Kim Tate (Claire King).
Ruby’s plan for Rose was to sleep with Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) and destroy Kim’s life in the ultimate revenge. Rose succeeded in her plan, and then vanished into thin air – right after Kim learned all about her agreement with Ruby.
While Kim doesn’t yet know about Rose bedding Will, she’s got enough motive to make Rose disappear, and at the moment at least, all roads point to her.
Will and Kim’s marriage is under strain as they both look guilty whenever Rose is mentioned, and both continue to snap at each other. But they’re stunned into silence when Dawn arrives and announces she wants to hire a private investigator. This is bad news for Kim if she has done something to Rose.
Kim bumps into Caleb Miligan (Will Ash) and wastes no time in rubbing his face in what his nutty wife has been up to, and Ruby is elsewhere quaking in her boots at how Caleb will react at what she’s done. It’s all getting very messy.
With Dawn hellbent on getting a PI to find her lost mum, Kim encourages Will to send a message from Rose’s mobile mobile to confirm she’s not coming back. This raises the huge question on Will’s lips as to how Kim
It turns out Caleb is cool with Ruby’s antics and he decides that they haven’t lost against Kim just yet, and makes a new plot to get back at the Home Farm Matriarch. Kim just can’t catch a break.
Dawn receives the message from her ‘mum’ and is left crushed at her second round of abandonment. But has she been abandoned, or has Rose suffered an even worse fate?
While Dawn copes with that bombshell, Kim and Will try to navigate their disintegrating marriage. Kim admits to Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) that they are in trouble as a couple, while Will comes close to confessing the full truth.
Whether dead or alive, has Rose succeeded in her plan to destroy Kim?
