Samson Dingle (Sam Hall) has finally confessed the truth about his stabbing in Emmerdale.
A few weeks ago, Samson and friend Josh (Osian Morgan) arrived at The Hide to spend the afternoon drinking. As things developed, Josh was established as a horrible individual who took pleasure in winding Matty (Ash Palmisciano) up and throwing transphobic comments in his direction.
Things then took another dramatic turn when Josh pushed Samson into Matty. Because Matty happened to have a knife in his hand, it resulted in Samson getting stabbed.
In the aftermath, Josh has manipulated Samson into lying about his version of events. It’s resulted in a very innocent Matty spending time behind bars, and Samson trying to keep his cool as his guilt started to increase.
This week, Matty ended up in hospital after being attacked. At first, Moira (Natalie J Robb) and Amy (Natalie Ann Jamieson) thought an inmate had beaten Matty after discovering he is transgender, but Amy then learnt Matty had asked cellmate Les to attack him, so he could feel safer while in a hospital ward room.
Friday’s (July 12) episode of the ITV soap began with Moira and Mack (Lawrence Robb) returning home after Samson double-crossed them and had the siblings arrested for kidnap.
Moira was taken aback to realise this Dingle in particular could be so sly, but Mack wasn’t surprised at all.
Meanwhile, Lydia (Karen Blick) was starting to grow suspicious of Samson and when she found him outside being threatened by Josh, reality began to hit her.
Walking through the village, Lydia spotted Moira, who had just discovered Matty organised the prison attacked on himself.
Moira ended up confessing this to Lydia and as she clocked her facial expression, Moira worked out Lydia wasn’t entirely confident on Samson’s version of events after all.
At the Dingle household, Lydia sat down with Samson and gently asked if he had been lying. Samson eventually broke down and revealed the truth to his parents, leaving Lydia and Sam (James Hooton) utterly horrified.
As Lydia left for some air, Samson didn’t know what to do next.
Looking to his father for help, Samson was told by Sam that the only way to escape this problem is to run away.
But will Samson listen to his dad? Or end up confessing the truth to the police so Matty is released?
Samson Dingle has finally come clean about the events leading to his stabbing in Emmerdale. It all started when Samson and his friend Josh went to The Hide for a drink, where Josh’s true colors were revealed as he antagonized Matty with transphobic remarks.
The situation escalated when Josh pushed Samson into Matty, who happened to be holding a knife, resulting in Samson getting stabbed. In a twist of events, Josh manipulated Samson into lying about what actually happened, leading to Matty being wrongly imprisoned.
Recently, Matty was attacked in hospital after orchestrating a situation where he would be safer in a ward room. This revelation shocked Moira and Amy, who were already dealing with Samson’s betrayal.
As suspicions grew, Lydia confronted Samson and eventually got him to admit the truth to his parents. Now faced with a dilemma, Samson is advised by his father to run away to avoid the consequences. The question remains: will Samson flee or do the right thing and confess to set Matty free?
