Emmerdale fans think they’ve worked out what Samson Dingle is planning for baddie Josh, after he threatened him again this week.

During Friday’s episode, the character was harassed by Josh weeks on from an incident that led to Samson being accidentally stabbed by Matty Barton. 

Josh was taunting Matty and made transphobic jibes at him, also trying to take money from The Hide.

Samson was shoved by Josh and the knife Matty was holding impaled him, but Josh claimed Matty deliberately attacked him unprovoked. 

Samson cruelly went along with this after Josh threatened him, and Matty was sent to prison.

Matty was recently released after Samson finally confessed that he’d lied about him, with him now facing sentencing for his crimes. 

But he has yet to tell the police the truth that Josh was involved, with Josh making sure he’s kept out of it.

On Friday we saw Josh head back to the village ahead of Samson’s hearing, once again threatening him to stay quiet. Samson was ignoring his messages, and on seeing him he told him he needed to stay away.

Josh claimed he did not know what he was capable of, and later Matty and Cain Dingle were annoyed to learn Samson was still covering for him. As Matty shared his fears over Josh being around as well as the impact the situation has had on him, Samson suddenly appeared thoughtful.

He was shown sending Josh a text message asking to meet him the next day, ahead of his sentencing. The message mentioned him having a send-off before possibly going to prison.

But viewers think they know what Samson really has planned for his meet-up with Josh, and it could see them both leave the show. Amid reports Samson is bowing out of the village, fans think he will either do a runner before his hearing or might finally expose Josh for his own actions.

Taking to X, one fan posted: “He’ll record Josh threatening him/confessing and then he leaves on his own after Josh is arrested.” Another said: “Samson probably gonna do a runner to Ireland,” as a third posted: “Samson is going to do a runner, right?”
