Belle Dingle recently made a significant move in an Emmerdale episode when she decided to end her marriage to the increasingly violent Tom King. However, a recent spoiler video reveals that Tom isn’t going anywhere and intends to worm his way back into her life.
For months, Tom has been controlling Belle, monitoring her through their home security cameras and tracking her phone. Their recent journey to Wales took a dark turn when Belle was shocked to learn that Tom intended for them to relocate there permanently. Tom’s behavior only worsened as he gaslighted Belle, locked her in the house, and even physically abused her, turning what was meant to be a vacation into a nightmare.
In the latest episode, Belle faces further humiliation when her card is declined at a store. Nicola King, fed lies by Tom about their breakup, sneers at Belle, who quickly leaves the store, embarrassed and upset. On her way out, Belle runs into Lydia Dingle, who tries to console her, but Belle is in a state of total distress. Tom, who is nearby, notices this and, despite Lydia’s doubts, charms her into believing he has Belle’s best interests at heart. Lydia eventually gives in and follows him—did she make a serious error?
What Happens Next? Will Belle be able to resist Tom, or will he find a way back into her life? Fans have witnessed Tom isolating and controlling Belle in recent episodes, as Emmerdale tackles a coercive control storyline. Tom’s behavior has been growing nastier and more aggressive, even applying for a job in Wales without Belle’s knowledge. He went so far as to hide Belle’s cell phone and forbade her from telling anyone about their getaway.
Fortunately, Charity Dingle, a family member of Belle’s, has been suspicious of Tom’s actions. She decided to investigate Belle’s sudden disappearance, and in Tuesday’s episode, she and Cain Dingle arrived at the abandoned cottage in Wales where Belle had been held. In horrifying moments shown in Wednesday’s flashback episode, Tom’s depraved behavior escalated further.
While Tom was in the shower, Belle courageously decided to flee, taking their dog, Piper, with her. After locking Belle in the cottage and attacking Piper, Tom pursued her, but Belle managed to board a bus and escape. Since then, Belle has returned to live with the Dingles, but Tom has been lying to her family, claiming she hasn’t been taking her medication and blaming her for her mental health issues.
The Shocking Revelation: On Friday, Vinnie Dingle appeared cautious around Tom and questioned Belle about any abuse. Belle became visibly frightened and acknowledged Tom’s manipulative tendencies and harsh language. Later, Tom took things further by telling everyone in the pub that Belle had an abortion, rather than a miscarriage, as payback.
In a shocking twist, Belle walked in at that precise moment. After accusing Vinnie of having an affair with his wife, Tom gaslighted Belle into keeping quiet about their marriage. As the episode came to a close, Belle chastised Vinnie, telling him to get over his jealousy and leave her alone.
Conclusion: Even though Vinnie and Belle had broken up, Tom continued to keep a close eye on his estranged wife. On Monday night, Tom was furious to see Belle and Vinnie embrace again. He chose to portray Belle negatively, telling Aunt Nicola King that Vinnie was evidently present with his wife, leading Nicola to inadvertently extend an offer to Tom for a place to live.
Tom then told Belle that since he had already paid the rent, she could return to their previous house after finding a new place to reside. Though it sounded like a kind offer, it was all part of Tom’s scheme. When the locksmith changed the locks, Tom covertly got a key cut for himself.
