Meghan’s new cooking show is gaining buzz for its impressive promotion featuring four-legged guests

Meghan Markle is rumoured to have wrapped-up filming on her eagerly-anticipated new cooking series for Netflix.

Part of her and Prince Harry’s $100 million five-year deal with the streaming giant,

the yet-to-be-named series aims to “celebrate the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining, and friendship”.

A source told The Daily Beast: “It all went well, and it is in the can.”

The show was reportedly filmed in at least two locations.

The first being a high-end florist just outside the town of Montecito in California,

and the second in a lavish $5m house just a few miles away from the $11m mansion Meghan shares with Prince Harry and their children.

The new series is heavily-tipped to feature some well-known names from the world of cooking, including Michael Steed, who helped create Anthony Bourdain’s Emmy-winning Parts Unknown.

Despite the show not even hitting the streaming site yet, there are already some concerns the couple’s eye-watering Netflix deal may not be renewed when it ends in 2025. If this happened, it would be the latest in a long line of failed ventures for the couple.

And it appears the knives are already being sharpened for this new cooking show, with Sky News host Rita Panahi scoffing at its basic premise.

“Meghan Markle has just wrapped up filming on a new cooking and home show for Netflix, a show which has yet to receive a formal title or air date, as part of the Sussexes $100m deal and was filmed at a property near their Montecito mansion in Los Angeles,” Rita said.

“It’s apparently going to focus on the joys of cooking, gardening, entertaining and friendship – and I’ve gotta say, it sounds bloody awful.”

Elsewhere, PR consultant and royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams speculated the royal couple could be ‘in financial trouble’, if Netflix pulled the plug.

He told the Mirror: “It runs out next year and Netflix are no longer producing the series of The Crown, as they previously were. They might therefore have less interest in the Sussexes.

“If they lost this contract, with Archewell, their business and charitable foundation, having so few donors, they might well be in financial trouble. Since their exposés of royal life has made megabucks, but little else has made money, the Royal Family better hope that this unpredictable and ruthlessly ambitious couple stays with Netflix.”

The forthcoming cooking series is not the only show the royal couple are working on, with Prince Harry creating a programme about a US polo championship. Meghan is also launching her own lifestyle brand this year, American Riviera Orchard.
