Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have made a plan to help their father Prince Andrew over the rest of the summer, according to a source.
The Duke of York has stepped away from public life following his disastrous Newsnight interview in 2019.
Andrew is also involved in a dispute with the King regarding the Royal Lodge residence which he currently lives in with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson.
However, Andrew has been invited to Balmoral to spend time with other members of the Royal Family.
A source told the Express: “Andrew has hardly left Royal Lodge since Christmas so he’s very much looking forward to getting away with the rest of the family at Balmoral.
“He’s turned into a bit of a recluse, so the girls (Beatrice and Eugenie) are hoping that some nice family time with the children will help cheer him up a bit and bring him out of his shell.”
Earlier this year, King Charles requested that the Duke of York move out of the Royal Lodge.
Prince Andrew signed a 75-year lease agreement with the Crown Estate for the Royal Lodge in 2003.
Andrew is refusing to leave Royal Lodge and plans to pass his lease over to his daughters after his death.
However, the Duke of York originally wanted to pass the lease to his ex-wife but he is unable to do so due to a clause in the agreement with the Crown Estate.
The clause states the lease can only be passed to his children or his widow.
If Prince Andrew remarried Sarah Ferguson he would be able to bequeath his Royal Lodge lease to her after his death.
The lease has 54 years remaining on it and Andrew plans to honour the terms of the agreement.
However, King Charles is urging his brother to give up the Royal Lodge and downsize to Frogmore Cottage.
Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are dedicated to supporting their father, Prince Andrew, during the upcoming months. As the Duke of York continues to step back from public life following his controversial Newsnight interview in 2019, his daughters are determined to uplift his spirits. Despite the ongoing dispute with King Charles over the Royal Lodge residence, where Andrew currently resides with his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, the royal family has extended an invitation for him to join them at Balmoral.A close source revealed, “Andrew has been fairly secluded at Royal Lodge since Christmas, so he is eagerly anticipating the opportunity to spend quality time with his family at Balmoral. Beatrice and Eugenie are optimistic that the familial environment, surrounded by the children, will help brighten his mood and encourage him to engage more with others.”Earlier this year, King Charles recommended that Prince Andrew vacate the Royal Lodge. In 2003, Andrew had entered into a 75-year lease agreement with the Crown Estate for the property. Despite the King’s wishes, Andrew is firm in his decision to retain the lease and eventually pass it down to his daughters upon his passing. However, he had originally intended to pass on the lease to Sarah Ferguson, but the agreement with the Crown Estate stipulates that it can only be inherited by his children or widow. Should Andrew marry Sarah Ferguson once again, he would be able to transfer the lease to her after his passing. With 54 years still remaining on the lease, Andrew is committed to upholding the terms of the agreement.Nonetheless, King Charles persists in encouraging his brother to relinquish the Royal Lodge and consider downsizing to Frogmore Cottage. The developments in this royal saga highlight the complexities and intricacies of family dynamics within the British monarchy.
