Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter) has had a tough few months, but she is determined to use her experience to help young Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) in upcoming EastEnders scenes.
Denzel is left dreading school after receiving a scathing voice note from Avani Nandra-Hart (Aaliyah James) following Nugget Gulati’s (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) recent hospitalisation.
Nugget was left hospitalised after taking steroids supplied by Denzel.
To make matters worse, Denzel has a difficult chat with Amy Mitchell (Ellie Dadd), and ends up heading home.
Lying to dad Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson), Denzel insists he’s going to school, but ends up hitting the gym instead.
However, he is left terrified when he starts experiencing pains.
When Howie rumbles Denzel’s lie, thanks to Amy, the father and son row, leaving Denzel furiously confronting Amy, who gives him a reality check about his treatment of her.
Noticing how Howie is struggling with Denzel, Yolande offers to step in, before teaming up with Amy.
Unfortunately, this backfires when Denzel accuses them of talking about him behind his back, and Yolande is left having to find a new tactic.
Later, Levi arrives with news for Yolande that the CPS have charged Pastor Clayton (Howard Saddler) with two counts of sexual assault, thanks to both her and Delia coming forward.
Realising that it may help him, Yolande confides in Denzel about her ordeal with the Pastor, before urging him to accept help.
Will she be able to get through to him, or will Denzel continue on the same path?
